Vishnupriya Raveendran is a versatile Carnatic vocalist with a plethora of accolades. With over 400 solo concerts across India, she has established herself as a prominent artist. As a B high artist at All India Radio, Chennai, Vishnupriya has showcased her talent on various prestigious stages including Krishna Gana Sabha, Music Academy, and VJT Hall Trivandrum. Her performances at the Thiruvaiyaru Thyagaraja Utsavam have been particularly noteworthy.

Recognized for her exceptional talent, Vishnupriya was honored with a prodigy award by the former Governor of Pondicherry, Malgani, and bestowed with the title “Deiveega Isai Vaani” by Pazhani Murugan Temple. She has collaborated on albums and stage shows with renowned artists like Kavitha Krishnamurthy, Harish Raghavendra, SPB, Srivardhini, and others, showcasing her versatility.

Vishnupriya’s talent has garnered appreciation from stalwarts across various fields including Director Maniratnam, writers Jeyamohan, Shyalaja, Bava Chelladurai, and music directors Shankar Mahadevan, Devi Sri Prasad, among others. She has also shared her knowledge through lecture demonstrations, preparing batches of 150 students for stage performances. A regular performer at RKM Chennai, Vishnupriya continues to captivate audiences with her soulful renditions.

Currently residing in Dallas with her family, Vishnupriya advocates for a comprehensive approach to music education, aiming to provide students with a strong foundation that transcends cultural boundaries. She emphasizes the importance of understanding dynamics, notation, pitch, rhythm, and ear training in her classes, fostering a deep appreciation for classical music beyond just the Carnatic tradition. Her goal is not only to develop proficient Carnatic singers but also to cultivate in her students a genuine taste for and appreciation of high-quality classical music.
